Not sure whether assembly polls are held in time: Dr Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, Apr 23:  National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that he is not sure whether assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir are held in time.

He was talking to media persons on the sidelines of a party function here.” I feel if BJP is again voted to power, they will not hold assembly polls here. The chances are bleak,” Dr Farooq Abdullah said.

   

He added that while the Supreme Court has set a deadline for the assembly polls, BJP may not like to hold the elections on any pretext.

Asked about the support by Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari to Peoples Conference (PC) President and candidate in Baramulla, Sajad Gani Lone, NC President said, “ I request Altaf Bukhari sahab, Sajad Lone sahab and Ghulam Nabi Azad sahab to do some retrospection as to who is supporting them from behind and what they are saying about minorities. I pray for the guidance of the trio.”

About the unscheduled power cuts in valley, the NC President said, “The crisis may take a serious turn in coming days and the power situation may worsen if they are again elected and get power.”

Dr Farooq Abdullah alleged that BJP may change the constitution to implement Russia type governance once they return to power this time.
