Ramban accident | Political leaders grieved over loss of lives

Srinagar, Mar 4: Several political leaders have expressed grief over the loss of lives in Ramban road accident.

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed profound grief over the death of four individuals and injuries to many others in Maligam, Ukhrall road accident.

While expressing anguish over the incident, Omar said, “The deaths of four individuals and injuries to many others in Maligam, Ukhrall tragic road mishap is heartbreaking. My condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the accident. I wish swift and complete recovery to all those who have sustained Injuries in the accident.”

 

Altaf Bukhari

Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has expressed shock over the tragic road accident. “I express my sympathies to the bereaved family members, who lost their lives in a road accident in Ukhral area of Ramban,” said Altaf Bukhari.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls, and courage to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Seeking a probe into the road accident, he demanded immediate compensation to the next of kins of the deceased persons, and specialized treatment to three injured persons.

 

Sajjad Shaheen

National Conference (NC) leader and District President, Ramban Mr Sajjad Shaheen expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the death of four persons and injuries to other three persons in a tragic road accident near Shalgadi on Pogal-Maligam road in tehsil Ukharhal earlier this morning.

Shaheen while expressing grief over the accident said, “There has been a steep increase in the number of road accidents on the Jammu-Srinagar highway and its peripheral roads in which numerous precious lives are lost every year. What is worrying here is the fact that there has been no initiative by the concerned authorities to curb the occurrence of such fatal accidents.”

He added that the highway and its peripheral roads have unfortunately turned into death traps. The process however requires strict scientific action from administration, which  has shut its eyes and ears to the mounting road accidents.

Shaheen called for urgent attention to the condition of roads and highways in District Ramban and emphasizing the need for infrastructure improvement to prevent future accidents.

He has urged the Lt Governor administration to immediately sanction Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia relief in favor of next of kith and kin of those who died in the fatal accident poor deceased and Rs two  lakh to the seriously injured ones besides ensuring specialized treatment for the injured.
