IGP Kashmir visits Anantnag, chairs security review meet

Srinagar, Nov 23: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, Virdi Kumar Birdi Thursday visited south Kashmir’s Anantnag district for a security review meeting aimed to assess the security situation in the district and to ensure that the necessary measures were in place to address any potential challenges.

During his visit, the IGP held a meeting with Police officers of the district and discussed strategies for maintaining peace and order in Anantnag district.

   

V K Birdi also emphasised the importance of community engagement in preventing crime and ensuring the safety of residents. The meeting was also attended by DIG South Kashmir Range (SKR), Anantnag, Rayees Muhammad Bhat, SSP Anantnag G V Sundeep Chakravarthy, and SP Ops Anantnag Furqan Qadir.

The Kashmir Police chief during the meeting emphasised the importance of close coordination and collaboration between the various security forces to effectively combat any potential security threats. He also stressed the need for proactive measures to maintain peace and stability in the district. In discussions about investigations, the IGP urged prompt resolution of pending cases.

Emphasising Police-people relations, he encouraged a public-centric approach, advocating service-oriented policing.
