Kupwara, Mar 27: A man was arrested in border town Karnah for acting as a double agent and misleading enforcement agencies about counterfeit heroin in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile police in a statement said “On 26/3/2024, reliable information was received at PS Karnah that one Aazam Shah, son of Ghulam Hussain Shah, resident of Pingla Haridal is using urea fertilizer, Nishasht (starch/corn flour) and white cosmetic powder etc and is making artificial brown sugar like substance”.
“Thereafter, the person was giving wrong information to law enforcement agencies in order to falsely implicate innocent persons. Accordingly an FIR No. 14/2024 US 420 IPC has been registered in Police station Karnah and investigation taken up,” reads the statement.
“During the search of his premises, incriminating material (urea fertiliser, starch powder, white cosmetic powder) and cell phone has been seized for expert analysis,” reads the statement further.
