Police crack theft cases in Baramulla | Stolen property recovered

Baramulla, Apr 8: Police in Baramulla have solved theft cases by arresting an accused person and recovered stolen property from his possession.

On 4 April, Police Station Pattan received a written application from President Masjid Baitul Huda Pattan Ab Majeed Sada stating therein that the donation box of the Masjid had been looted by some thieves. They have also stolen one jacket and mobile phone from the Masjid Sharief. Moreover, the thieves also looted the donation box at nearby Ziyarat. On the next day, Police Station Pattan also received information that the Samsung tab was stolen by thieves at State Bank of India in Pattan Market.

   

In this regard, case FIR Nos 97/2024 and 102/2024 under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigations of both cases and after strenuous efforts, officers zeroed in on one suspect identified as Nasir Ahmad Najar, resident of Najar Mohalla Pattan. He was traced and arrested at TRC Srinagar and during questioning accused Nasir Ahmad Najar confessed his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure the stolen property has been recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to PS where he remains in custody.

“Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police have resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities,” police said.
