Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has termed violence on Kashmiris by government forces as 'terrorism', Pakistan media reported today.
According to Express Tribune, Nisar made the remark while addressing a one-day meeting of home ministers from countries belonging to South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc).
Nisar said there was a difference between fighting for freedom and terrorism, it reported.
"The violence being committed against the innocent people of Indian held Kashmir is open terrorism," Nisar was quoted in the report as saying.
Earlier, the minister left his seat of speaker to address all issues point by point raised by home ministers of the member countries.
"We have always wished to work in close cooperation with all our neighbours and we believe all pending issues can be addressed through dialogue."
Nisar's remarks come in the backdrop of escalating tensions between the nuclear-armed rivals over current unrest in Kashmir.
