Srinagar, Nov 9: Jammu and Kashmir Ranji cricket team on Friday were struggling at 196 runs for the loss of seven wickets against Goa at the end of first day's play of their second match of Ranji Trophy tournament at District Institute of Education and Training Ground, Porvorim.
Winning the toss, J&K elected to bat first. But early fall of wickets failed to form a solid foundation. Adil Rishi and Arshad were bowled out scoring only 10 and 17 runs respectively.
Ian Dev Singh and Parvez Rasool's partnership looked was being perceived as some hope for the team but Ian got out after scoring 36 runs. The total score at this point was 86. Valiant efforts by Parvez Rasool kept Goa bowlers at bay but the comeback was short-lived with wickets kept falling.
At the end of day's play, J&K were struggling at 196 runs for the loss of seven wickets. However, Parvez—who is still on the crease—is seen as a hope. He scored unbeaten 90 runs off 205 deliveries.
