Srinagar, Oct 9: Gandhi Memorial College lifted the 7th Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket Tournament title, defeating Government Degree College Shopian in the final played at Islamia College of Science & Commerce here on Tuesday.
 Batting first, Gandhi Memorial College scored 264 runs in 35 overs. For Gandhi Memorial College, Abid Nabi scored 59 runs in 28 deliveries and Nazir scored 39 runs in 21 deliveries. For GDC Shopian, Arshid and Tawseef took one wicket each.
 In reply, clashing huge target of 265 runs, Govt. Degree College Shopian were bundled out for 200 runs in 31.03 overs.
 For GDC Shopian, Shahnawaz scored 63 runs in 48 deliveries and Usmaan scored 39 runs in 35 deliveries. For Gandhi Memorial College, Abid Nabi took three wickets while Atif Nabi took two wickets.
 With this win, Gandhi Memorial College lifted the trophy by defeating Government Degree College Shopian by 64 runs. Tawseef from Government Degree College Shopian was adjudged as man of the tournament for his all round performance in the event.
 Principal of the College, Prof. Tariq Ahmad Kawoos distributed prizes among the winner and runners-up teams. Members of College Sports Committee were also present on the occasion.
 Speaking on the occasion, the Principal highlighted the achievements and contribution of Prof. Mohammad Yousuf late Principal of the College.
 Prof. Asmi from Gandhi Memorial College, and Dr Mahajan from Islamia College also spoke on the occasion. Physical Director Altaf-Ur-Rehman in his speech gave details of the concluded tournament while Dr. Tarooq Ahmad Ganai, Convenor Games & Sports Committee gave the vote of thanks. Mementos were also presented to dignitaries of JKCA.
 The tournament was organised by the Department of Physical Education Islamia College of Science and Commerce Hawal and was sponsored by the J&K Cricket Association.
