Srinagar, Oct 9: The Jammu and Kashmir sqay association is conducting selection trials of junior sqay players at national institute of martial arts (NIMA) Pampore on October 11 and 12.
The selected players will represent the state in the 9th junior sqay championship scheduled at Pondicherry from November 7 to 9 which is being organized by Indian Sqay Federation. The selected players will undergo 11 days coaching camp at NIMA before heading for Pondicherry.
The J&K sqay team is dominating the national arena from many years and this year too, the association is expecting to deliver goods in the championship by winning highest number of medals.
"We have been dominating the national sqay arena from last many years and hope to repeat the same performance this year too," an official of the association said adding the main reason for dominance is that the Valley is producing quality martial art players.
