Bangalore: Talented Pakistan opener Salman Butt today blamed the pitch at M Chinnaswamy stadium here as the reason for his team's poor performance letting Indian's to post a mammoth total.
Speaking to newspersons after the second day's play he said there was nothing for the Pakistani bowlers, except for the first hour on the opening day. This was made doubly difficult as key players suffered injuries, he said.
"This was not what we expected as we were looking to level the serires. However, we will fight back and do our best to come back into the Test. Shoaib had to only field due to an ICC rule that stipulates a bowler who was absent for a particular period will not be allowed to bowl for such a time.
"This hampered our plans as he is our spearhead," he said.
The opener said Ganguly who scored a double century, had proved that great players always make a come back. "India has experienced players and they proved their worth,'' he said.
Asked whether Pakistan would be able to save the match, Butt said still three.
