Srinagar: Three day Youth Sports Festival concluded on Thursday at Hadipora Stadium Varmul.
The festival was organized by Department of Youth Services and sports in which 20 schools of Varmul district participated in the games of Football, Athletic, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Tug of War.
On the last day of the festival, final matches of Kho-Kho and Volleyball were played.
In the volleyball Hadi Pora defeated Dandhi Wacha in two straight sets by 25-17 and 25-17.
In Kho-Kho Hadi Pora won against Government Boys Middle School by the margin of one point.
Minister for sports Babu Singh was the Chief Guest while as M.L.C. Abdul Gani Vakil was guest of honor.
On the occasion Babu Singh announced the amount of Rs 3 lakhs for the renovation of the Parraypora stadium and said that new sports policy will be drafted soon.
"In new policy games would be categorized in different categories and those games which will come under A category will be given special facilities. Talented players will be sent to foreign coaching academies," Babu said
Abdul Gani Vakil who was guest of honor on the occasion announced amount of 2.50 lakhs for up gradation of Hadi Pora Stadium from his constituency development fund.
