Akhnoor zone dominated in both kabaddi and kho-kho events taking home four title trophies in twin age groups of under-14 and under-17 in the inter-zonal girls' competitions of Jammu district, organised by the Department of youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government Higher Secondary school, Domana, near here today.
On the concluding day of the event, the semifinals and finals were witnessed by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Marh, Sunaina Mehta, who was chief guest in the concluding function. She gave away prizes and certificates to the participating teams. Speaking to the teams, she said that sports inculcate the sense of confidence among young students.
Earlier, Principal of the host school, Ajeet Kumar Sharma welcomed the chief guest and presented a brief note of the event.
Also present were SHO Domana, Rajinder Sharma and Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs) of the participating zones falling under Jammu district.
Today's matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Jasdev Singh, Ashok Kumar, Bua Ditta, Sanjeet, Anubhav, Ram Murti, Tilak Raj, Gulveer Rampal, Sham Krishan, Ramesh, Sham Singh, Balwan, Ajmer, Poonam, Raman, Jagjeet, Prithpal and Ravinder Singh.
