Team Alkhudam overcame Ghani Gliders in their second Downtown Champions League (DCL) T20 match at Kashmir University ground, here by 41 runs.

Manzoor Pandav was in great form and raced to his half century off just 20 balls and remained unbeaten on 55 after hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes.

When Alkhudam came into bat after winning the toss, Huwaid Hamid 15, at first dominated Gliders pace attack before he was caught at mid-wicket off Ishfaq who finished with 2 for 41. Nadeem Dar 55 then joined Samad Bhat, who had moved onto 19, when he was sent back by Adil with the team total on 72. Dar then hit a boundary off Adil to bring Alkhudam onto three figures but was caught soon after, at cover, off Mudasir who finished his three over's with 1 for 22.

Wicketkeeper batsman Tahseen Dar also played an unbeaten cameo of 25 runs and helped his team to put a huge total of 183 for 4 on board in allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 184 to win, Gliders suffered early shocks as they lost their first four batsmen on 49 runs in the 6th over of their innings. Opener Sajad Sofi (55) then roped in with Adil (21) and tried to rebuild the innings but double strikes by Muntazim (3 for 21) shattered his efforts.

With 96 for 7 on board Gliders never saw themselves in the game and were restricted to 141 for 9 in allotted 20 overs as Irshad also took 3 important wickets and finished his four overs with 3 for 25. For Alkhudam Suhail Mir and Kafeel also chipped in with one wicket each. Manzoor Pandav was declared man of the match for his fiery 55 off 22 balls.
