The much awaited franchisee based Harwan Cricket League organised by locals of the area started amid much fanfare at Harwan, here on Sunday.
To watch the inaugural match, thousands of spectators hailing from the adjoining areas had thronged the venue.
The inaugural match was played between Sakoon Strikers and AMS Stars. Batting first Sakoon went to score 185 runs for the loss of seven wickets in allotted 20 overs. Nazir with 33 and Ashiq with unbeaten 45 were highest scorers for them while as for AMS Stars Aslam and Samiullah took two wickets each.
In reply, AMS Stars tried hard to achieve the required target but the whole team got out for 172 runs thus losing match by 13 runs. Altaf with 67, Lateef with 26 and Gowhar with 21 runs were highest scorers for them while as Obaid, Arshid, Ashqiue and Sameer took two wickets each for Sakoon Strikers.
Ashiq for his all round performance of unbeaten 45 and two wickets was adjudged as man of the match.
