J&K Cricket Association on Tuesday announced the list of players for the upcoming Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 event and it includes Abid Nabi who is making a comeback.
The selectors announced the list of 17 players which will be led by Ian Dev Singh in absence of Parvez Rasool who has been picked up for Team India T20 squad for England series.
Another notable inclusion is that of Manzoor Pandaw, a big hitting batsman in domestic cricket who has got maiden call-up.
The team includes, Ian Dev Singh, Abid Nabi, Sayim Mustafa, Mohsin Mufti, Waseem Raza, Ahmad Banday, Umer Nazir, Manzoor Pandav, Ishfaq, Shubham Khajuria, Jatin Wadhawan , Mithun Manhas, Manik Gupta, Ram Dayal, Deepak Dogra, Pranav Gupta and Anshuman
"We have selected the squad that mostly has new faces but with some known faces as well. Abid Nabi has been selected on the basis of his impressive domestic cricket performances and so is case with Manzoor Pandaw. We are hopeful that team will do well in the event," said selector Zahoor Bhat.
"Ian Dev is our top batsman and he will be leading the side in absence of Parvez. His performance with the bat has been brilliant from last many years for the State. We carry on his brilliant form with bat in T20 event as well," he added.
JK will start its T20 campaign against Delhi at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on January 29 and in second match will clash with Services on January 30.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Sayim Mustafa has become first cricketer from Ganderbal district to be in team.
"I have been selected for JK team. It is a big achievement and proud moment for me," Sayim said.
