Bashir Malik disassociates himself from Football Association

Former General Secretary of JK Football Association Bashir Ahmad Malik has disassociated himself from JKFA.

Former General Secretary of JK Football Association Bashir Ahmad Malik has disassociated himself from JKFA.

Malik was associated with JKFA since 1996 and is current executive body member.

"I am disassociating myself from all positions in JKFA with immediate effect. I will be revealing reasons at opportune time," Malik said.

He said that he will continue to work for the development of the football at individual level and with some likeminded persons outside the ambit of JKFA.

Malik was a national level footballer and started one of the popular private football clubs of State, Iqbal Sports which runs two clubs. 

In 1996 he joined JKFA as Kashmir wing Treasurer and remained on that post till 2004. In year 2004 he was elected and General Secretary of JKFA upto 2008. Currently he was serving JKFA as its executive body member and life member.

"During my tenure as Secretary we won North Zone Sub-junior football title in Uttaranchal and then hosted 2005 Sub-Junior event. It was in tenure first AFC–C License course was held in JK and in my tenure first 3rd Division football league was held in JK. The biggest achievement of my tenure was hosting of Santosh trophy in year 2008. It was during my tenure we were able to produce top footballers like Mehraj Wadoo, Ishfaq Ahmed and Arun Malhotra," he added.
