Minister of Education Altaf Bukhari inaugurated the 'Oorja' Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Youth U-19 football talent hunt tournament (boys and girls) at Bakshi Stadium, here on Saturday.

The event is Prime Minister's initiative to identify young talent by way of conducting football championships in all States at the same time, a CRPF statement said.

It is a move to encourage young boys and girls to develop their inherent talent in the field of football and to achieve the aim of "Mission XI Million Football Players".

The 10-day tournament is organized by CRPF Srinagar sector, in association with J&K Football Association and Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K under the aegis of All India Police Sports.

IG CRPF Srinagar Sector, Ravi Deep Singh Sahi delivered the welcome address and DIG, CRPF Srinagar South Range, Dr. Sanjay Sharma administered oath to the participants of the tournament.

Tajamul Islam, youngest kick boxing champion from Kashmir (the brand ambassador for the tournament) was the Guest of Honor.
