A top official on Sunday said that tregistration process for 'Let's Play' football tournament organized by the Department Of Youth Services and Sports J&K under the aegis of Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with the co-branding of Khelo India has attracted around 55000 players from the State. Director Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad while sharing the details about the tournament said that the online registration for the football tournament which commenced on October 26 concluded on November 15. "Nearly 55000 youth from all the 22 districts of the state have got themselves registered online of which 31% comprises of girl players."
"The participating players have been registered under 3265 Schools and 3729 Teams", he added. He said the Baramulla district has topped the registration process with more than 6000 registrations followed by district Rajouri with 4400 registrations and district Anantnag with about 3800 registrations.
Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed said that the department is very optimistic about "Let's Play Football" tournament as it is the first of it's kind when football lovers from every nook and corner of the state would get a chance of showcasing their untapped talent. He assured that the talented lot in the participating players will be encouraged further and the players will be facilitated properly.
