J&K mentor cum player Irfan Pathan has thanked Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman and BCCI official Rajiv Shukla for helping J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) to conduct practice matches between J&K and Uttar Pradesh.
In a first kind of its initiative, JKCA conducted four pre-season practice against Uttar Pradesh at Sheri-Kashmir Cricket Stadium. In the matches JKCA fielded different set of players to give them a top quality match practice before the start of the national season. The matches were held under the eyes of Irfan Pathan. The series was leveled 2-2 after J&K won last match on Friday. After the conclusion of series, Irfan Pathan took to social media website twitter to thank Raji Shukla for the matches.
"On behalf of JKCA I would like to Thank @ShuklaRajiv ji for helping us organise 4 practice matches here in Kashmir vs UPCA which will not only help both the teams prepare for the grueling domestic cricketing season but also revive cricket in Kashmir," Irfan tweeted.
Since arriving in J&K, Irfan Pathan has taken number of initiatives and conducting of practice matches against outside State side is one of them. He has already held talent hunt camps in both provinces of State and has been watching over training of all the top cricketers of State since last two months at Sheri-Kashmir cricket Stadium Srinagar. J&K is scheduled to start its national season with Vijay Hazare trophy One Day tournament matches.
