J&K conceded first inning league points against Railways in the Under-19 Col CK Nayudu Trophy (2018-19) tournament at East Coast Railway Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneswar RSPB on Monday.
Needing 338 runs to win on the last day of the match, J&K were rescued by expiration of time remaining in match as they were struggling on 186 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the closing time. If it would not have been the unbeaten knock 59 scored by Abid Mushtaq, J&K could have suffered a defeat. Earlier Zaid Mohammad scored 43 while as Surya Malhotra 22 to help J&K resist Railways winning charge.
Earlier in the match, Railways in their first inning had posted 329 runs. For J&K Mohammad Tahir and Abid Mushtaq took four wickets each. In its first inning, J&K managed to score only 231 runs. Suryainsh Raina with 44 and Zaid Mohammad with 40 runs were top scorers for J&K while Sahil Lotra contributed 35 and Abid Mushtaq scored 25 runs.
Railways declared their second inning on 240 for the loss of eight wickets thus setting a target of 338 runs to win for J&K.
From the match, Railways earned three points while as J&K had to contend with one.
