Hosts Lone Star Kashmir FC suffered 3-1 defeat at the hands Neroca FC in the ongoing second division I-League as the home side stretched winless home record to new level at Synthetic Turf, TRC Ground here on Monday.

After suffering miserable main round season, hosts Kashmir FC would have hoped to revive their morale with some consolation home wins at the end of the season. However their hopes where dashed by the inspiring and talented side Neroca FC as they cruised to a 3-1 win against hosts.

From the start visitors showed their intent and determination of getting full points from the match and making their position on points table strong. Led by the foreign striker Chinedu Ejiogu Emmanuel, Neroca was able to create some decent moves early in the game, one of them earning a goal for them. Though there was major defense lapse from Kashmir FC, but nothing can be taken away from Emmanuel who showed the composure to take full benefit and earn much needed first goal for his side. Only minutes later, Kashmir FC were able to rectify their mistake and bounce back in the game as Ifham scored equalizer for the side. In the closing minutes of the half , Farooq missed one on one chance against Neroca FC to score and give 2-1 lead to Kashmir FC. At the halftime score was tied at 1-1.

In the second half, it was Neroca FC all over with the visitors going on to score two more goals and seal the fate of the match in their favor. Thokchom Johnson Singh scored the second goal while as Ashok Singh made it 3-1. Neroca FC won match by 3-1 and took their tally on points table to 14. Kashmir FC are struck at bottom of the table with a mere solitary point.

Sounding optimistic despite suffering a defeat, Kashmir FC coach, Hilal Parray said, "It was a day in which we missed some close chances to go up. Farooq only moments before halftime missed a chance that would have given us first half lead. The goal makes a difference in the morale of the side and halftime lead would have been great. However, it did not went our way as Farooq couldn't beat Neroca FC keeper".

"We suffered 3-1 defeat and no one can justify it. However, in this game we gave chance to new keeper who is local lad. He made some nice saves despite looking nervous initially. It is big thing that I am taking from this match. Another highlight for me was the goal scored by Ifham. At this time of the season I will like to give chance to maximum of the local lads and see how they play in the middle of the field. If they will not get chance this time then they may never get one," he added.
