Srinagar: The second J&K level Carrom Championship organised by J&K Carrom Association started at Hotel Management Institute Rajbagh here on Saturday.
The championship was declared open by President J&K Carrom Association (JKCA) Mudasir Khan in presence of General Secretary JKCA Adil Rashid Shah, organising secretary JKCA Arif Sultan , Treausrer JKCA Sheikh Saqib, Guest Radio Jockey Sardar Nasir Ali Khan and other officials.
In the event around 100 players from all over J&K are participating and around 42 matches were played on the inaugural day.
The competitions of Junior and Senior categories in both male and female sections were held.
In the matches played on opening day, Momin Fayaz defeated Obaidullah Khan , Md Umar defeated Uzaif Nazir, Adnan Afazal defeated Zubair Showkat, Aijaz Ahmad defeated Momin Showkat, Imtiyaz Ah. Ahmad defeated Dawar and Aman Khan defeated Wasim Bashir in senior men section.
In senior women section Sharika Majeed defeated Rahila Jan, Fiza Yousuf defeated Saima and Adfar Jan defeated Bazila while as Arsalan defeated Mohammad Manan, Romin defeated Peer Numan, Shahid Ahmad defeated, Asif Mehraj in junior boys section.
In junior girls section ,Riddha Madni defeated Raziya Yousuf, Sheikh Urooj defeated Irtiza Mushtaq, Tabinda defeated Hafsa.
