7th Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket tourney concludes

Director General of Police (DGP), Dr S P Vaid has said sports develop an ability to face adversity with poise and dignity besides enthusing a spirit of patriotism and sportsmanship among the youth.

Director General of Police (DGP), Dr S P Vaid has said sports develop an ability to face adversity with poise and dignity besides enthusing a spirit of patriotism and sportsmanship among the youth.

Dr Vaid was speaking at the closing ceremony of 7th Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Championship at Kathua Sunday.

The tournament was earlier inaugurated by the DGP in which 16 teams from the State and north India besides Indian Air Force and Indian Army participated.

Sabbi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur lifted the championship by defeating Khanna Cricket Club Jagraun in the final match. DGP felicitated the teams and players and thanked them for displaying standards of discipline during the championship.         

Among others, the closing ceremony was attended by IGP Jammu Danesh Rana, DIG JKS Range A A Wani, DC Ramesh Kumar, SSP Pawan Parihar, prominent industrialist, families of martyrs and a large number of people.
