Army trains 10 youth in martial arts

Ajas Army Camp, with the support of Ali Sports Academy, has trained 10 local youth from the village in martial arts, a spokesperson of 15 Corps said here on Thursday.  

“A total of 10 participants were sponsored by the Army Campto participate in Martial Arts Championship trials held at Jammu (Wushu andkick boxing) in various age groups to be selected, to represent India in 9thSouth Asian Karate Championship to be held in Delhi,” said the spokesperson.

   

A total of five candidates have been selected as part of theIndian team, he said, adding, to motivate them further, selected individualswere invited to the Army Camp and were felicitated with prizes.

“The efforts of Army have been successful in harnessing andnurturing the talent and channelising the energies of the youth in aconstructive manner. The selected individuals will definitely motivate morechildren’s to participate and pursue other sports activities,” he said.
