Babar Azam tumbles records with 3rd ton on trot
Pakistan's emerging middle order batsman Babar Azam has created history and tumbled records with his third hundred in succession in three-match ODI series against West Indies.
Babar broke and created so many records on his way to a blistering hundred in the third ODI.
With this ton, he became only third Pakistani to score three back to back centuries in ODIs after Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar.
Meanwhile, he became first Pakistani to achieve this feat in a three-match ODI series. He also holds the record of most runs in a three-match bilateral series.
Azam played three classical innings of 121, 123 and 117 in this series.
Azam has scored the most runs ever by any batsman after 18 ODI innings. Previous record holder was Viv Richards with 883 runs.
Top stars of cricket have praised Babar for his batting performance in the series. Earlier in the day Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had praised the youngsters in his Tweet.
In a message on micro-blogging website Twitter, Ashwin wrote, "Looking forward to see Babar Azam bat tonight. Hopefully we will reach Indore on time to see the game," Ashwin tweeted.
Soon after scoring third consecutive ton, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi also hailed the youngster in his Tweet.
"Special talent #BabarAzam. Three 100s in a row. What a performance. Congratulations super star!," Afridi wrote. Agencies
