Budgam cyclists shine at All India Inter-University Championship

Srinagar, Apr 23: Cyclists from the Khelo India Cycling Centre in Budgam, have brought laurels to the Union Territory by bagging an impressive eight medals at the All India Inter-University Cycling Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar.

The contingent from Budgam showcased their skills and determination, competing against some of the best cyclists from across the country. Their remarkable performance has highlighted the growing talent and passion for cycling in the region.

   

More than 10 cyclists from Jammu and Kashmir participated in various disciplines, including road cycling, mountain biking (MTB), and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) national championships. Their participation in these prestigious events is a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the athletes and their coaches.

Furthermore, two cyclists from Budgam represented Jammu and Kashmir at the 38th National Games held in Goa, while one cyclist had the honour of representing the Union Territory at the Khelo India Youth Games in Tamil Nadu.

The success of these young athletes is a source of immense pride for the Khelo India Cycling Centre in Budgam, which has been instrumental in nurturing and promoting cycling talent in the region. The centre’s efforts have not only provided world-class training facilities but have also instilled a sense of discipline and determination in these athletes.
