Delhi Public School (DPS) Budgam booked its place in the final of the night football tournament titled Chinar Cup after defeating Army Good Will School, Bandipora by 2-1 goals in the second semi-final of the tournament played at DPS Srinagar football field on Friday evening. With this win, DPS Budgam set its title clash with hosts DPS Srinagar who have already stormed into the final.
In a high intensity match, it was AGS Bandipora who managed to dominate the early exchanges and took lead in 17th minute. However, despite conceding lead, DPS Budgam mounted a comeback and in the 18th minute Adeel Tariq scored an equalizer.
Half an hour into the match, Adeel scored his second goal by dribbling past the AGS defense thereby giving DPS Budgam the lead which they defended well enough till the end. Finally, the match ended in their favour of DPS Budgam as they won 2-1 goals.
While DPS Budgam goalkeeper Zahid, despite injuries, made some brilliant saves to win the heart of spectators, it was Adeel Tariq who won man of the match award for scoring two goals.
