Deen Wali won the invitational Golf tournament organized by Eventos at Royal Spring Golf Course here on Monday. 

More than 80 participants from different states participated in the tournament titled "Horizon Cowepts Private Limited-invitational Golf tournament." Rayees Ahmed and Danish Khan won the second and third slots respectively. 

The long drive went for IGP Crime Muneer Ahmed Khan and Straight drive turned out into a tie between the National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah and Ishfaq Hussaini.

The Horizon Group promised to make this gold tournament an annual feature in Kashmir. "We will create housing colonies here to provide high class living with thermal housing concept," said Sabwaral Chairman Horizon group.

 The Secretary tourism, Farooq Ahmed Shah, who inaugurated the tournament said, "The tourism department is trying to get foreign golfers to the state to boost the economy. We are working on various packages in which golf courses, JKTDC huts, hotels and sightseeing shall be combined to sell JK as the most preferred golf destination in the country. Such events attract tourist focus on Kashmir and we will help all the corporate to have conferences combined with golf and other leisure activities here".

 The Secretary Royal Spring Golf Course Nuzhat Gull said they were pleased to host this tournament here. "It will help us to open more and more opportunities in future," she said.

The chief guest at the occasion Minister for R&B Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari said, "I remember when Mufti Sayeed in 2002 took over as the chief minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah had then asked him to take care of this very golf course. We are taking that mission of Dr Farooq to next level. We are going to make more and more golf courses here."
