Ishtiyaq Rasool's highest score of the season set up the fourth consecutive win for Al-Hamza Super Kings against HK Stars in the ongoing Downtown Champions League T20 at Kashmir University ground here, on Saturday.
Ishtiyaq made an unbeaten 91 chasing 127 for 1 as Kings reached the target in just 14 overs. He hit 8 boundaries and 7 sixes in his 41 ball innings and helped Kings to register their fourth win on the trot.
For Stars Aquib was the pick of the bowlers who dismissed opener Arshid Bhat for 15 – the only loss for the Kings.
Earlier HK Stars won the toss and decided to bat first. Stars lost both the openers Asif Rasool (21) and Kamran Jalal (2) on 37 runs before Captain Amir Sofi and inform Zaid Muhammad (25) put a stand of 40 runs for the third wicket.
Amir played all around the ground and hit 4 boundaries and 2 sixes in his 29 ball 45 runs and helped Stars to post 123 for 7 on board in allotted 20 overs.
Fot Kings Tabriaz took two important wickets and finished with figures of 2 for 31 while as Parvaiz, Sultan and Abid took one wicket each. Ishtiyaq Rasool for his unbeaten glorious innings was declared man of the match.
In the second match of the day Pride Riders cruised to a seven wicket win over Jawahar Housing Hawks. After picking four important wickets, Majid Dar remained unbeaten on 32 and helped Riders to bounce back from the earlier consecutive defeats. He hit two boundaries and a six in his 23 ball 32.
Chasing a pretty good score at Kashmir University Riders started with a match winning opening stand of 55 runs between Faizan 44 and Haroon 16.
Majid roped in with Akeel 21 and Mohsin 20 not out to take his side to the first win of this season. For Hawks captain Amir, Zahoor and Mudasir took one wicket each.
Earlier after winning the toss Jawahar Housing Hawks batted first. After losing opener Muzamil on 5, Captain Amir Aziz and Irfan Amin put a stand of 64 runs after Majid Dar struck. Amir Hit 7 boundaries in his 53 ball 58 not out inning while as Muzamil hit two boundaries and same number of sixes in his 24 ball 34. Captain Majid Dar remained the pick of the bowlers for Riders as he finished with 4 for 26. Adil and Mashooq took one wicket each and restricted Hawks to 141 for 7 in allotted 20 overs. Majid for his brilliant all-round performance was declared man of the match.
