JKFA’s Premier Division League: Forest-XI, Maharaja Sports register big wins
In the ongoing J&K Football Association (JKFA) Premier Division football league, J&K Forest-XI and Maharaja Sports registered easy victories in the two matches played at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground here on Sunday.
In the first match of the day, Forest-XI defeated bottom-placed team Lonestar Kashmir FC by 4-0. It was a one-sided contest as Lonestar Kashmir FC failed to match their opponents on the field. Lack of scoring ability in the forward line hurt them badly. Except for a free-kick from Shariq Fayaz that hit the goal post, Lonestar Kashmir FC looked toothless on the field through the match.
J&K Forest FC on the other hand played aggressively from the word go and were able to score the first goal in the 5th minute through Naseer. Striker Ashiq made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute. At halftime Forest-XI was leading by 2-0 goals.
In the second half, J&K Forest FC continued their dominance scoring two more goals in 68th and 71st minutes. Javaid and Khalid were the scorers.
In the second match of the day, Maharaja Sports overpowered State Football Academy (SFA) by 3-0 goals.
Like first match of the day, it also turned out to be a one-sided affair, barring a couple of chances created for SFA by number 10 Mohsin. Nabil opened the score for Maharaja in 20th minute of the game. Rayees doubled the lead through header after fumble by SFA goalkeeper. The jersey number 22 scored the 3rd goal for Maharaja Sports in the 2nd half, winning it 3-0 for the team.
