KU holds marathon for specially-abled

To create awareness about the issues faced by the specially-abled persons, Department of Students Welfare (DSW) University of Kashmir organised a marathon for specially-abled persons at KU campus here on Thursday.

The marathon was flaged off by Vice-Chancellor Prof TalatAhmad and Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir started at Maulana Rumi Gate and culminatedat Gandhi Bhawan auditorium of the Varsity.

   

Around 50 specially-abled students from various departmentsof the University and from several other institutions participated in the marathon.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad said that such events boostthe morale of the specially-abled and brings a sports aptitude in them.

The culmination of the marathon was followed by distributionof awards and participation certificates amongst the specially-abled persons atGandhi Bhawan auditorium.

Dean Students Welfare Prof Raies A Qadri welcomed the gueston occasion while Shaheel presented vote of thanks.
