MEN’S U25 STATE A TROPHY | HP beat J&K by 34 runs
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Under-25 cricket team suffered its first defeat against Himachal Pradesh in ongoing Men’s U25 State A Trophy tournament.
After winning the toss, J&K opted to field first. Chasing a target of 249 runs set by Himachal Pradesh, J&K got all out for 215 runs. It was the first defeat for J&K in the tournament this season after having played three matches.
Earlier batting first Himachal Pradesh scored 249 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted 50 overs. SG Arora with 69 run knock and MA Sharma with 51 were highest scorers for them.
For J&K, Nasir Lone took three wickets while Sahil Lotra took two. Rasikh Salam and Sunil Kumar took one wicket each.
In reply, J&K got all out for 215 runs in 41.4 overs. They lost the match by 34 runs. Dikshant Kundal scored 51 run knock for J&K while Henan Malik and Nasir Lone scored 32 runs each. For Himachal Pradesh, AA Walia took four wickets.
J&K were going well in their chase and at one stage were 129 runs with one wicket down. After that there was a collapse and the whole inning bundled out for 215 runs.
After suffering their first defeat in three matches , J&K now have got eight points and stand at second place on points table. Bengal is occupying top place in the group with 12 points.
