Nehru ready to leave BCCI, JKCA
ML Nehru who is currently BCCI Vice-President and General Secretary of Dr Farooq Abdullah faction is ready to leave both the associations following the Supreme Court order.
"Most of the things proposed by Lodha Panel are for larger good of the cricket. Though there are few things that needed further look but I believe with the passage of time it will be perfected. Initially BCCI working would get hampered to some extent but with the time everything would be all-right," Nehru said.
"The order affects me in personal capacity as I have to leave BCCI Vice-President's post. However, for the betterment of cricket I have no issue with that. I will leave the post with immediate effect as well as post of JKCA General Secretary. I believe now fresh JKCA elections should be held under the monitoring of Lodha panel," he added.
NO OPTION BUT TO FOLLOW ORDER: ANSARI JKCA
Moulvi Imran Reza Ansari faction of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) on Monday said that they are left with no option but to follow Supreme Court order.
"It is clear Supreme order is order that we have to follow at anyhow. Whether we like it or not, there is no option left out for us. We will now sit together and discuss on how to implement the Lodha commitee recommendations," said former cricketer and JKCA Treasurer Abdur Rouf.
"It is obvious that there will be major changes due to this order. Only time will tell whether changes will help cricket in Country are it will be bad for it," he added.
DR FAROOQ FACTION WELCOMES
J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) Dr Farooq Abdullah faction has welcomed the Apex Court order and has said that it is ready to follow all the guidelines.
"We have already written to Lodha Panel about our willingness to implement the order. With this new order, it is now mandatory for BCCI and its State units to go ahead with Lodha recommendations," said former General Secretary JKCA Saleem Khan.
"The current JKCA body headed by Moulvi Imran Reza Ansari according to panel order is illegal as the elections were declared null and void by the panel. However, they still enjoy the power as BCCI headed by Anurag Thakur used to back them .With this today's order everything has changed and we will now want Lodha panel to take over the body and hold elections under its observations," he added.
