Qamran Iqbal scores a brilliant ton

Continuing his dazzling form with the bat that had got him India Under-19 B- team call, the new batting sensation of the state – Qamran Iqbal – scored a brilliant century for J&K in the Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy against Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. Despite Qamran’s brilliant ton, J&K went on to lose the match by four wickets.  

Opening the batting for J&K, Qamran went on to score 101 runs off 107 balls that included 8 fours and 4 sixes. He had reached to his fifty in 43 balls only and after that slowed his inning only to carry JK inning forward, but his effort with the bat was not enough to make the team win. 

   

In the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Qamran Iqbal has improved with every passing match. After scoring 20 runs in the first match against Saurashtra, Qamran went on to make his first fifty of the tournament, scoring 55 runs against Himachal Pradesh in the second match. With a brilliant ton against Tamil Nadu in the 3rd match, his cumulative score has reached 176 runs so far, averaging around 59 runs per inning. Till now, Qamran has proved to be the only shining example in J&K Under-19 campaign. 

Before the start of the season, Qamran while playing for India Under-19 B team had scored two fifties in quadrangular trophy tournament that his team went on to win.
