RVRS Gold Cup-Gwalior: Arco FC start with win, beat Jhansi Railways

Arco Football Club started its campaign in the All-India RVRS Gold Cup with a win as they beat Jhansi Railways in the match played at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday.

Arco FC, playing in its first ever national level event, came from behind to beat the Jhansi side in the tie-breaker. Jhansi Railways earned lead in the fifth minute of the match and were leading by 1-0 at half time.

   

In the second half, Arco bounced back and stared to create chances. In the dying moments of the game, Akeel was able to equalize for the Arco and push game into the tie-breaker.

In the tie-breaker, goalkeeper Junaid turned out as hero for Arco side as he saved four penalties and helped Arco FC emerge winner in first match.

Managing Director of Arco Cements Javaid Ahmad has hailed team for the win said that he is hopeful that they will continue to make J&K proud in the upcoming matches.

“This win of the team in their very first match at national level is a great news to us. The team has achieved this success by their hard work, teamwork and dedication. Teamwork is the key to success and this formula should be implemented for achieving further success,” he said.
