Sharjeel 3rd Pakistani to score 150-plus score
Sharjeel Khan on Thursday became the third Pakistan batsman to score 150-plus runs in One-Day Internationals (ODI) after Saeed Anwar and Imran Nazir.
The southpaw scored 152 off 86 balls against Ireland during the first of the two ODIs at Dublin.
The left-handed batsman pulled Barry McCarthy for his 16th boundary to reach 152 runs in 85 balls.
The 27-year-old, however, fell on the very next ball when he tried to work a full-length delivery to on-side only to lift it in the air for wicketkeeper Niall O'Brien to pluck it safely.
Prior to his maiden 150-plus score, he had registered fourth fastest ODI century for Pakistan in 61 balls.
In his 86-ball knock, Sharjeel hit 16 fours and nine sixes.
Sarfraz Ahmed followed Sharjeel back to the pavilion after three balls of the latter's dismissal as he failed to execute a cut-shot properly.
The wicketkeeper-batsman was Tim Murtagh's first wicket after scoring just 2 off 7 balls when Pakistan were five down for 227 in 32.3 overs. Debutant Mohammad Nawaz and Shoaib Malik stood at the wicket. Agencies
