Sports fraternity of J&K has condoled the demise of the current SRTC-XI footballer Shabir Ahmad Dar who passed away at his residence Mehjoor Nagar here on Saturday.
Shabir Ahmad who originally hailed Goni Khan area of city passed away after brief illness. He was currently part of SRTC-XI football team. Before joining SRTC, he had also played for the Iqbal Sports, Forest-XI and J&K Police.
J&K Football Association held its condolence meeting that was chaired by District President Fayaz Ahmad Sofi in which the demise of Shabir was condoled.
Iqbal Sports has also condoled the demise of the footballer.
"It is a big loss for the football in Kashmir. He was fighting player and used to play for our club in his initial days," said Chairman Iqbal Sports Bashir Malik.
J&K Sports Development Association Vice-President, Altaf ur Rehman also condoled the demise of the footballer.
"It is big loss of SRTC team as well as football fraternity in general. He used to give his heart out while playing the match," he said.
