J&K looked in total control at the end of third days' play in ongoing Under-23 Col CK Nayudu trophy tournament after bundling out hosts Odisha for 206 runs and earning first inning lead of 428 run first inning lead at Gandhi Stadium, Balangir Odisha on Wednesday.
At the end of third days' play, hosts were on 30 without loss in second inning after being forced to follow-on. They still trail J&K's first inning mammoth total of 634 runs by 398 runs.
The third day's play started with hosts resuming their inning from 56 without any loss of wicket. The whole team got out for 206 runs. Despite fighting ton scored by opener Sandeep Pattanaik, Odisha were able to make only 206 in first inning. Odisha lost first wicket on the score of 85 with Abid Mushtaq getting wicket of Amrit Khatua who scored 22. After that it was collapse as Odisha folded out for 206. Pattanaik with 100 from 185 balls was highest scorer for hosts. For J&K, Abid Mushtaq starred with bowl taking 5-wicket haul while as Auquib Nabi and Paras Sharma took two each. Trag Jahid Nazir took one.
After being forced to follow on, Odisha openers gave another decent start to its team. They carried team to end of third days' play without any loss of wickets. Odisha are 30 without any loss of wickets and trail by 398 runs. Pattanaik is batting on 17 and Amrit on 9.
Earlier J&K had declared their first inning on 634 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Thanks to the brilliant double ton of 228 runs and 158 run knock by Abhishant Bakshi that J&K were able to post such a huge total on board. The opening duo had put 364 runs for the opening wicket. Shubham Pundir scored 104 run knock while as Muneeb Munaf remained not out on 52.
With J&K in total control and full day's play left, team would like to earn an outright win against hosts.
