Women’s College lifts 4th inter-college Judo title

Government Women’s College, MA Road, lifted the into-college Judo championship for the fourth consecutive time, a statement said Wednesday.

It said the management of the college hails its Judo teamfor lifting the inter-college Judo championship, organised by the Directorateof Physical Education, Kashmir University, for the fourth consecutive time.

   

In the championship, Kabra, Irfan, Hadiya and Adfar bagged agold medal each, while Yasirya won silver and Mehak bagged bronze medal.

Principal of the college, Prof Yasmeen Ashai, appreciatedthe efforts of the students. She assured full cooperation from the collegeadministration in encouraging students to participate in sports events.

Meanwhile, the Judo players of Amar Singh College shined inchampionship, bagging eight medals.

Shahyla, Khushboo and Henna bagged gold in women categories,while Masheed, Junaid and Shahid bagged gold in men’s category for Amar SinghCollege. Besides, Aaqib bagged silver and Moomin bagged bronze.

Principal, Amar Singh College, Prof Shaheen Altaf,congratulated the men’s as well as the women’s teams for showcasing excellence.

The Principal also appreciated the sports committee,especially the Physical Director of the college Ravinder Kour. Convener SportsCommittee of the college, Prof Mashooq Hussain, highlighted the importance ofsports activities and urged the students to participate in more events.
