Women’s One-Day League: J&K suffer 3rd consecutive defeat as HP win by 9 wkts

J&K senior women’s cricket team suffered its third consecutive defeat in the ongoing Senior Women’s One-Day League as they were defeated by Himachal Pradesh by nine wickets at B.O.S.E. Ground, Cuttack on Thursday.

Himachal Pradesh won the toss and invited J&K to bat first. The decision turned out to be correct as Himachal bundled out J&K for paltry total of 79 runs in 37.4 overs. 

   

J&K got off to bad start with opener Anju Devi getting out on the first ball. After that J&K inning never took off as they crumbled for 79 run total. It was another slow-batting show by J&K players as was visible during first two games of the league. J&K inning included four ducks while as Rubia Syed top scored with 29 and Jaspreet Kaur with 20. For Himachal Pradesh, Tanjua and Sushmita took three wickets each while as Renuka took two. 

In reply, Himachal Pradesh attained the required runs for the loss of only one wicket in mere 16.2 overs. Nikita S Chauhan top scored with 35 not out while as Neena M Chaudhary scored unbeaten 30. Harleen B Deol was the only wicket to fall, scoring nine runs. For J&K only wicket taken was by Sandhya.

J&K after suffering third consecutive defeat in the event is placed at bottom of the points table in Elite Group C with nil points. Himachal is on top with four wins from four matches.
