Srinagar, Nov 9: Residents of Azad Colony, Ninety Feet Road, Soura are up in arms against the government for leaving the colony roads in a dilapidated condition.
The roads are in a pathetic condition causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents. The residents complained that the drainage work on this road was completed almost four years back and since then it was craving for macadamization.
"The road is in such a bad condition that in rainfall, it leaves no option for us than to wear long boots," aggrieved residents of the colony said.
They added the bad road conditions have made it accident prone. "Many pedestrians especially aged persons fell down while walking and get injured," said a local Abdul Rehman flanked by others.
The locals also alleged that all other colonies of the area were macadamized and only their colony was left in shambles. They accused the government of discrimination.
The outraged residents added that they appealed the government so many times but it always "turned a deaf ear to their grievances."
The angry residents threatened that if the administration will continue "ignoring their problem", they would resort to protests.
"We appeal the government to take our issues into cognizance and macadamize the road as soon as possible or else face the agitation," locals threatened.
