Srinagar, Nov 9: Collage, poster making, painting, elocution debate and poetry composition marked day six of Sonzal 2008, a youth festival at Kashmir University.
 The KU PRO Showkat Shafi said: "For the first time KU, held an open Collage Competition in the campus in which more than 40 students from the university and its affiliated colleges participated."
  Meanwhile five other competitions for events including poster making, painting, elocution, debate and poetry were held at the campus.
 "Topics like Youth, Destiny and Kashmir were given  to the participants of poetry half an hour before the competition started while five of them were awarded for their performances. One of the participants also qualified for the All India North Zone competition to be held in December this year." 
 In cartoon competition in which 17 students participated, the theme was Obama- a new Change.
 "SSM College of Engineering student Naved Tramboo bagged first prize in the cartoon competition while GMC Srinagar Aymen Masood and IMFA Mir Suhail received the second and third prize respectively."
 The debate competition Globalization has Threatened Religious and Cultural Traditions  marked the participation of 55 students.
 "SSM College of Engineering student Naved Tramboo bagged first prize while Women's College M A Road Navid Iqbal and Business School, UK Tasleem shared the second prize due to a tie. The third prize was given to Syed Urfa of the Law department.
 "In the quiz competition Ms maria Rafeeqi of Govt college for Woman Nawa Kadal , Aamir Rahim of  Department of law, Ab Hasseb Wani of Govt Medical College Sgr secured the 1st 2nd, and 3rd positions respectively and qualified for north India Level youth festival. Quiz was anchored by Roshan Khayal."
 In the Poster Competition Muhammad Haziq of Business School KU, Khazin Muneer of Law Deptt, Miss Ashira Punjabi of Inst. of Music and Fine Arts won 1st, 2nd , 3rd positions respectively while Nadeem Mushtaq and Muhammad Rafi of Instt of Music and Fine Arts were given 1st  and 2nd  consolation prizes respectively.
 In painting Competition   Azim Hassan, Mudasir Gul, Mohammad Rafi  of Institute of music and fine arts  won 1st,  2nd  , 3rd  positions respectively while as Hilal Khan and Rameez Wahid of the same institute  were given 1st  and  2nd consolation prizes respectively.
