Srinagar, Oct 9: The SK Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, Friday organised a two-day meet on Bile Duct Diseases which was inaugurated by the reputed medical scientist Prof. Samiran Nundy.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Samiran dwelled on the evolution of liver transplant in India.
President, IHBPA, Prof. Avinash Supe while addressing the gathering, elaborated the role of association in spreading the knowledge and surgical techniques evolved in the recent years in the surgery of hepato-biliary system.
Director SKIMS, Prof. Abdul Hamid Zargar, complimented the department of surgical gastroenterology at SKIMS who according to him have done excellent work in the area of pancreatic malignancies, hepatic resection and portal hypertension surgeries.
Dean Medical Faculty Prof. Imtiyaz Ali discussed continuing medical education programmes held at SKIMS and SKIMS Medical College while as HOD Surgical Gastroenterology, Prof. Omar Javid Shah talked about the work done by the department.
Dr. Sadaf Ali organized the conference in which President IHPBA, India, Prof Avinash Supe, Past President, Prof Jagannath, Prof RA Sastry, Prof Rajeev Joshi and Prof Khandelwal were also present.
