Srinagar, Nov 9: A seminar on urology was held at SK Institute of Medical Sciences Saturday during which medicos from the hospital's department of Urology presented their experience about the "transobstructor tape (TOT) sling operation done for female stress urinary incontinence, which is the latest procedure done in females suffering from urinary stress incontinence."
A hospital spokesman said: "During the seminar Dr BS Wazir, and Dr Muhammad Saleem Wani, of the Department of Urology gave an insight into the nature of this problem and the usefulness of this procedure."
"Dr Zahoor Ahmad, senior resident presented the data of this new procedure being done at SKIMS."
Dr Arif Hamid, assistant professor of the department gave a brief account of the magnitude of this problem.
"He said that this new procedure of TOT sling was simple, useful and cost-effective and provided excellent results in these patients of stress urinary continence."
Director SKIMS, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar, congratulated the department of urology for introduction of this procedure at hospital and stressed upon the need to keep pace with the developed world, so that quality care is available to the patients at SKIMS.
