Various areas of the summer capital have been facing acute shortage of potable drinking water supply from past several days.
The inhabitants of Badamwari Hawal in Shaher-e-Khaas led by Qazi Manzoor said "we are facing lot of hardships due to scarcity of potable water supply in the area."
"The taps are running almost dry for the past eight days. We have to fetch water from the adjacent areas for cooking and other purposes," he said.
Zakura area on city outskirts also faces shortage of potable water. "The pressure is so low that it takes an hour to fill up a bucket," said Javed Ahmad Reshi of Zakura.
"We apprised the PHE authorities about the matter, however they did not take any measure to restore the check the problem," Reshi said.
Inhabitants of Naseemabad Kanitaar in Hazratbal area are up in arms against the authorities for what they said failing to ensure water supply to the area for over seven days.
"Government has even failed to press water tanker service in our locality. We will be forced to take to roads if water supply to our area is not restored immediately," said Gowhar Ahmad, a local.
The residents of Syed Hamidpora in Nawaz Bazar locality complained of water shortage.
A delegation led by Manzoor Mir said "due to water shortage, we are face immense problems. People in our area also use boosters and deprive us of water," he said.
The aggrieved inhabitants appealed the Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter and directed the concerned to restore water supply at the earliest.
