To facilitate Pedal for Kashmir race, authorities on Friday formulated Traffic diversion plan for various areas of the summer capital on Sunday, May 31.
The Pedal for Kashmir race is being organized by J&K Police on May 31. In view of the race, the Traffic department announced diversions and restrictions which will remain in force from early Sunday morning upto conclusion of the race.
According to the plan, no traffic coming from Pantha Chowk towards Srinagar via Ram Munshi Bagh would be allowed to ply towards Gupkar. Vehicles will be diverted at R.M Bagh crossing towards Radio Kashmir. Similarly, the vehicles coming from Shaher-e-Khaas would be diverted at Khayam Chowk towards Ikhwan Chowk.
The vehicles coming from main Lal Chowk towards Dalgate would be diverted at Golf Crossing towards Radio Kashmir. 'The vehicles coming from Shalimar and its adjacent areas would be diverted towards Telbal and no vehicle shall be allowed to ply towards Nishat. No vehicle coming from Nishat would be allowed to ply on Boulevard road. No vehicle coming from Ganderbal towards Pandach-Zakoora would be allowed to ply on the said road," Traffic department said in a communiqué.
It said no vehicle coming from Lalbazar towards Dargah and from Rainwari towards Nigeen be allowed to ply. "In case of emergency, the drivers of such vehicles can contact the DySP Traffic City North, Srinagar at 9697009080, Dy. SP Traffic City South on 9419074888 and TPCR on 8713957632 and 9697891450," it added.
