The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appreciated the efforts of police and its Traffic wing for making a visible improvement in traffic management in Srinagar.
In a statement, PDP General Secretary Nizamudin Bhat, however said that an additional effort is required to take the traffic management and infrastructure building to a desired level.
"Government has not allowed paucity of funds, liabilities and vagaries of weather to come in its way in improving the essential services. Smooth traffic is not becoming possible at crucial hours in the morning and afternoon on routes connecting city localities to secretariat and educational institutions. The public transport also is still not hassle-free from Srinagar to Anantnag, Sopore and Baramulla. The party expects that emergency services and services provided to school children is fully protected," Bhat said.
Bhat exuded confidence that further improvement in traffic on ground will become more ostensible to public satisfaction due to commitment of the government to make all out efforts for bringing required succor to masses in general , professionals and business class in particular
"PDP is confident of public support in taking its agenda to an accomplishment with the due course of time. Criticism of adversaries apart, the government approach remains people-friendly and it will ensure that resource crunch is also done away with to address all pending important public issues of welfare," he said.
Bhat said the PDP "also sees a moment forward in the upgradation of roads essential for smooth traffic and transportation."
