Minister for Roads and Buildings, Muhammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday said the Rawalpora-Rangreth road will be metalled after two days.
"The work on drainage system has been completed on the route. Only lateral drains from left side are to be connected with the main sewer. The metalling on the route will be started in two days," Bukhari told Greater Kashmir.
Bukhari said after construction of drainage system, the road needs some time for consolidation. "Otherwise there is possibility that the newly macadamized road can cave in. To give time for consolidation, we will undertake macmadization on Rawalpora_Rangreth road within a month," Bukhari said.
Pertinently, the Rawalpora-Rangreth has developed uneven patches and potholes due to construction of drainage system. This hampers smooth flow of vehicular movement and poses risk of accidents.
