The Chief Engineer Beacon Brigadier Asish Kumar Das has assured the R&B Minister Muhammad Altaf Bukhari that second tube of Shalteng-HMT Chowk of Srinagar-Baramulla 4-lanning road project would be thrown open for traffic from August 20 while remaining portion from HMT Chowk to Narbal would be completed by November ending this year.
The Minister asked Chief Engineer to expedite work on the project in order to complete this important highway early. He said construction and widening of roads have become imperative to overcome on the traffic jamming problem in the State. He said this road link is important as it connects two major districts Baramulla, Kupwara with capital city.
It is mentioned here that this work was allotted to a local construction company Ms Jhelum Construction Company last month.
Appreciating the efforts of the Chief Engineer BEACON and executing agency, the Minister said that by their coordination the timely completion of the project is evident now.
Earlier, Chief Engineer briefed the Minister about the progress of the project and the cause of delay in its completion.
