The unit holders of Rangreth Industrial Estate have threatened to stage protests against Power Development Department (PDD) if it does not revoke its power curtailment scheduled during peak hours

The aggrieved unit holders said the PDD has started power cuts from 6 pm to 10 pm—stating it has affected their business.

"We will be forced to stage protests against the PDD if power is not supplied to the Industrial estate as per schedule," said Zeeshan Majeed, General Secretary Association of Industrialists, Industrial Complex Rangreth.

The unit holders said the Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed during his visit to the Industrial Estate on November 23 had directed the Chief Engineer PDD to ensure round-the-clock power supply to the units.

"Due to power cuts during peak hours, functioning of over 150 units has been affected. We also appeal the Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to look into the matter and direct the PDD to provide uninterrupted power to the units," he said.
